![]() ![]() ![]() I wrote A Rather Unusual Romance based on my treatment for thyroid cancer (no, that’s not me on the cover!), and Lily: A Short Story, based on my experiences of working in a care home when my children were small. Over the course of 20 I wrote several Women’s Fiction novels, one of which, The Daughter-in-law Syndrome, won a Readers’ Favorite 5-star seal and was an official selection in the 2015 New Apple Book Awards. Another item of news gave me the idea for For the Sake of a Child. My next novel The Pilates Class was again based on my own experience with exercising, and as a contrast to my first book is light-hearted and humorous, as is another of my funny stories No Sex Please, I’m Menopausal!Īn item of news gave me the inspiration for my most successful book to date, the Suspense/Thriller A House Without Windows, which has won a New Apple Book Award in 2014, and a Readers’ Favorite Gold Award. However, unfortunately the answer came back in the negative, but by then I had caught the writing bug and wanted to self-publish, so I did. A London literary agency debated for a week as to whether to take up my first book The Porn Detective, and I waited on the edge of my seat. ![]() By then I was in my mid-fifties and realised that I had a story to tell after helping my husband through distressing addictions which were affecting our marriage. I’m a British author who took up writing seriously only in 2013. ![]()
